Language School

With the help of God we reached the level where the children from our foundation can learn a foreign language with one of the most advanced method. Many people took part to begin this work  and takes part now to continue it and you also can be one of those who stays beside us.Those children whose future was very uncertain a few years ago now can learn a language and computer skills by means only very good schools can afford.

The Beginning

My  name is Janos Erno Bunta, I have been teaching English language for 13 years in my own small language school , till 2006 spring in Oradea and Marghita. I had to take a very serious decision this spring and I decided to come to Deva to teach the children from the foundation ( the final push I got from the letter brother Csaba wrote you can read it here).Our method is so advanced because we use special computer programmes and the children learn language and computer skills at the same time. In March I visited Deva and after the first weekend I knew I had to come.After talking to brother Csaba and Robi Karda my decision was even stronger. I gave up my rent in Oradea in May and with my whole language school equiment I moved to Deva.When I talk about the equipment I mean 5 computers all with special speech recognition programmes  and the furniture the office needs ( the value about 8 – 10 thousand euros ).At this point I have to mention the support -  without I could not have started this work  and I could not continue – I got from my parents.The foundation just round that time bought a small house near the monestry and I could start my office here .During the summer I had to work on the house ( and there is a lot more to be done ) in order to be ready for the children to start to learn.

My students    

The children at school till this year had been learning German language but from this year  we switched to English . I teach the  children from 5th to 10th grade to learn the English language at school in  traditional way.When I first met Robi Karda he told me how much he would like that the children learn by means of more advanced method and from this year this became true . The children from 2nd to  4th  grade learn with the computer programmes .Those children above the 5th grade who are  seriously interested in the English language  also come in the afternoons and they can learn the language at their level. Children at school start learning computer skills only from the 5th grade and most of the small children had never used a computer before and this made my work difficult at the beginning but after half a year of work they do most of things very well.I noticed the small children have problems with their coordination but the programmes help them to find the connection between what they see and hear , also they develop a logival way of thinking they could not develop in their very early childhood.

Even I teach the children conscientiously at school , because the number of  students in each  class is high they need to have more lessons in the afternoon and here the language school is irreplaceable .The children from 2nd to 4th grade come the language school in full numbers and from the 5th to 10th grade who are  seriously interested in English language this means 74 children altogether and 26 lessons a week for me .

Expenses

To pay the expenses for the language school costs money even the equipment is modern the children wear it and this means monthly costs. The foundation pays the bills but I wish that I could find ways not to use the resourses of the foundation but to assure the financing because one child can learn for a month for about 4 euros.

Our Motto

I like to use this description that the foundation is  developing horizontally when we save children and vertically when we teach them and prepare them for life .

Saving the children is not only giving them food, clothes, and home. They step into the life with what they have learnt.
